Awards Radar Community: What Was Your Favorite Oscar Win This Year?

Continuing on with our coverage of the 98th Oscars, we’re again focusing on our newest set of Academy Award winners. For today, it’s about the victors and which one you were most pleased to see occur. Of course, that means it’s another Awards Radar Community Question. This one is very open ended. It’s, quite simply…what was your favorite Oscar win this year?

Rich Polk

If you’re thinking above the line, it could be any of the big eight. Maybe it’s One Battle After Another winning Best Picture, or Paul Thomas Anderson taking either Best Director or Best Director? It could also be Ryan Coogler winning Best Original Screenplay for Sinners. Obviously, your other choices are the other two wins for One Battle After Another and Sinners, in Sean Penn for Best Supporting Actor and Michael B. Jordan for Best Actor, respectively. Otherwise, perhaps you’re fond of Jessie Buckley taking Best Actress for Hamnet, or Amy Madigan in Best Supporting Actress for Weapons?

Below the line, a major one that comes to mind is Best Cinematography going to Autumn Durald Arkapaw for Sinners. Obviously, that win made history, as Arkapaw is now the first woman to ever win this Oscar category. You certainly could go in another direction, however. Maybe it’s KPop Demon Hunters winning Best Animated Feature or Best Original Song for Golden? There’s also the Mr. Nobody Against Putin surprise win in Best Documentary Feature, for example. Wherever you fall, we’re more than cool with it.

The choice is now yours. Which Oscar win during the 98th Academy Awards was your favorite to see? We’re keen to find out, especially as we continue to focus on the fallout of this year’s Oscar ceremony. So, don’t be shy and chime in now…

Which Oscar win this year was your favorite? Let us know!

Fruitvale Station came out over a decade ago, it was amazing to see Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler win Oscars on the same night.
