‘KPop Demon Hunters 2’ is Officially Going to Be Made

File this one under obvious but still welcome news. Few films have had the massive cultural impact that KPop Demon Hunters has had this year for Netflix. As such, a sequel has been talked about almost since the first moment the movie proved to be a hit. Now, the streamer is actually starting to get contracts signed, signaling that a new installment in the new massively popular franchise is a certainty. That being said, this is not going to be a sequel that hits immediately, as you’re about to find out.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, KPop Demon Hunters 2 is officially on the way. At the same time, it will be a while before anyone sees it. Netflix has made a deal with Sony and the film’s directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, though talent has not yet officially signed on. So, as THR and Bloomberg report, this may not see the light of day until sometime in 2029. The wait may be long, but for fans, at least they know that work is about to begin.
