NEON Has Released a New Trailer for Joachim Trier’s ‘Sentimental Value’

This morning, NEON has released a new trailer for awards hopeful Sentimental Value, from filmmaker Joachim Trier. Starring Renate Reinsve and Stellan Skarsgärd, the film also features Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, with all four, along with Trier, having received Oscar buzz since its Cannes Film Festival debut. Trier directs a screenplay he wrote with Eskil Vogt, who penned The Worst Person in the World with him (which also starred Reinsve). Back at the Toronto International Film Festival, our own Joey Magidson raved about the movie, writing here that it was entertaining and gentle, yet still packs a wallop. The film will be released in theaters on November 7th.

The plot synopsis from NEON is as follows:

Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their estranged father, the charismatic Gustav, a once-renowned director who offers stage actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film. When Nora turns it down, she soon discovers he has given her part to an eager young Hollywood star. Suddenly, the two sisters must navigate their complicated relationship with their father — and deal with an American star dropped right into the middle of their complex family dynamics.
