Joey’s Home Movies For the Week of September 1st – Revisit the Original ‘Superman’ Franchise

Welcome back to my Home Movies! Today, we don’t have anything new actually hitting shelves. Additionally, there’s no Criterion Collection release, either. So, it’s classic cinema getting the top spot this week with a Superman box set. Read on for more…

Joey’s Top Pick

“Superman” (1978) Cinematography by Geoffrey Unsworth

Superman I-IV 5-Film Collection (4K)

With the newest Superman from James Gunn coming home later on this month, revisiting the first four in the original franchise in 4K feels like a really fun idea. Here you get Superman, Superman II, Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut, Superman III, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, so there’s lots here. When Gunn’s hit theaters, I ranked the films in the franchise here, so you can see where these stack up. If you’ve never watched Christopher Reeve play Clark Kent and the Man of Steel, now’s your chance to correct that!

Also Available This Week

Paramount

Lost in Space (4K)

Salvador (4K)

The Two Jakes (4K)

Undisputed (Blu-ray)

*No Criterion Collection releases today. Check back next week to see what they put out!*

Stay tuned for more next week…
