The Bruce Springsteen biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is showcasing more of its film festival plans. Already set to be a title at the New York Film Festival, our own editor Joey Magidson has speculated (here) that it could also be playing at the impending Telluride Film Festival. Well, we know where its final festival spot will be, right before it hits theaters.
According to Variety, the film is set to open AFI Fest on October 22nd. That’s just two days before the movie opens, on October 24th, in the heart of awards season. So, consider this another potential sign that Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere is being positioned as a real Oscar hopeful. Scott Cooper writes and directs, with Jeremy Allen White playing The Boss. More soon, especially if Joey does wind up seeing it at Telluride next week.
