Awards Radar Community: What Has Been Your Favorite Film of the Summer So Far?

We’re now in August, folks. The summer is flying by, to be sure, but at the same time, we’ve had plenty of films come out. Some of them have been rough. However, plenty of movies this summer have been great. Some of my favorites of the year so far would count as summer 2025 titles. So, an obvious Awards Radar Community question has to be poised. Dear readers, what has been your favorite film or films of the summer so far?

If you’re thinking blockbusters, there’s been plenty. Tops for me is Superman, though F1: The Movie is a strong selection as well. Other options would include Elio, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Jurassic World: Rebirth, and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. You could even go for something like Final Destination: Bloodlines if you want to get a little loose with the definition of summer. There’s options, that’s my point.

On the other hand, if a smaller scale flick is more your thing, there’s plenty of options. The Life of Chuck certainly would be my pick, but other choices would include 28 Years Later, Eddington, Materialists, and The Phoenician Scheme. The more indie side, or at least the less mainstream side, offers up plenty from summer 2025 as well.

Now, the choice is yours. Big or small, whatever has been tops for you this summer, we want to hear about it. If you love one of my favorites, be sure to say so. If it’s a film I don’t care for, that’s cool too. You loving the movie is what counts. So, have at it…
