Production on a third Dune movie is about to begin, signaling Denis Villeneuve going back to Arrakis one last time. The third book was called Dune Messiah, so there was a working assumption that the adaptation would go by that name as well. That’s not the case, however, as the production is going with a simpler and more obvious title.
According to Variety, the film is officially going to be called Dune: Part Three. That does keep the trilogy feel intact, which could prove beneficial when it comes time to think about awards, provided that the quality is there once again. More announcements should be coming soon, especially in terms of who will be joining Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya in the cast, so stay tuned.
