Official Trailer Released for Joachim Trier’s ‘Sentimental Value’ Following its Cannes Film Festival Debut

This morning, NEON released the first trailer for Sentimental Value, which they hope will be among their bigger Oscar players this season. At the Cannes Film Festival, Joachim Trier‘s follow up to The Worst Person in the World took home the Grand Prix award, so the prestige is already there. The cast is led by Renate Reinsve once again, with Stellan Skarsgard, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Elle Fanning rounding things out. The movie’s theatrical run will begin in November, likely after more festival appearances.

The synopsis for the film is as follows: “Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their estranged father, the charismatic Gustav, a once-renowned director who offers stage actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film. When Nora turns it down, she soon discovers he has given her part to an eager young Hollywood star. Suddenly, the two sisters must navigate their complicated relationship with their father — and deal with an American star dropped right into the middle of their complex family dynamics.”

Here now is the official trailer for Sentimental Value. Take a look:
