Darren Aronofsky to Direct ‘Breakthrough’ with Dwayne Johnson for A24?

Now this is an interesting pairing. Darren Aronofsky is the sort of director who really could get up to just about anything. This year, we’ll see him working with Austin Butler in the crime drama Caught Stealing. Next? Well, it seems like he’s headed back to make a movie for A24 again, and this time he’s casting a very interesting actor.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aronofsky is going to direct the film Breakthrough, which is described in the piece as such: “In turn-of-the-millennium Southern California, an alienated young man comes under the influence of a motivational guru, whose intoxicating charm masks his morally questionable methods of manipulation and his own concealed darkness.” Moreover, Dwayne Johnson is being eyes for a supporting role.
