Robert Eggers is Planning to Make ‘A Christmas Carol’ for Warner Bros. and Wants Willem Dafoe to Star

Now here’s an interesting mix of filmmaker and movie. There are a lot of different ways to make A Christmas Carol, depending on who’s at the helm. Well, how about an interpretation by none other than Robert Eggers? It sure seems like that’s on the table as one of his next projects, which would be quite the curveball.

According to Deadline, not only is Eggers planning to write and direct A Christmas Carol, he’s hoping to cast Willem Dafoe as well. The film is set up at Warner Bros., and while there’s no other casting details to report yet, he’s writing Ebenezer Scrooge for Dafoe. That alone makes this interesting, before we even consider what this classic tale will be like through Eggers’ distinct eyes. More on this one when we have it.
