Awards Radar Podcast #241: Joey and Myles Discuss the Palme d’Or Results, Cannes 2025, and ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’

Welcome back to the Awards Radar Podcast. In each episode, Editor Joey Magidson (that’s me!) will be joined by some of the staff of Awards Radar to talk about the latest in film, television, and entertainment in general. The show will obviously have an awards season slant to it, but we won’t forget about other movies and shows, that’s for sure!

For episode 241, I’m joined once again by my co-host Myles Hughes, with producer Steve Prusakowski behind the scenes preparing for Emmys and a new season of TV Topics, so look out for that soon. This is a Cannes results episode, as the 2025 Cannes Film Festival is now in the books. We look at all of the prizes from the fest, from the Palme d’Or on down, while speculating on which movies could be potential Oscar contenders down the line. Myles has seen Friendship (reviewed by yours truly here) and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (reviewed here), so we discuss those in fully detail than when I had seen them initially (we also ranked the Mission: Impossible franchise, following my list here). Plus, I chime in on Bring Her Back (review here), which I charitably did not care for. We recorded fairly late, so we kept it on the shorter side. Still, it’s a quality episode…

As always my friends and faithful listeners/readers, I do hope you all enjoy the latest episode of the Awards Radar Podcast, our 241st one to date (here’s to many more). Of course, feel free to revisit the previous installments by clicking the Podcast tab (here) on the top of the page. Plus, listen to us on Apple Podcasts (iTunes), Spotify, and other platforms. More to come each and every single week, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for listening!
