Teaser Trailer Released for Ari Aster’s ‘Eddington’

This morning, A24 revealed our first real look at Ari Aster‘s latest film Eddington. The movie pits Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal against each other in a small New Mexico town during May of 2020. So, expect anxiety and a real powder key from Aster. The teaser trailer released today certainly suggests as much.

Written and directed by Aster, the film stars in addition to Pascal and Phoenix, Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Austin Butler, and Emma Stone. The simple plot is “In May of 2020, a standoff between a small-town sheriff (Joaquin Phoenix) and mayor (Pedro Pascal) sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in Eddington, New Mexico.” A24 will put this out in theaters on July 18th, though first it premieres at the Cannes Film Festival.
