The first shoe has dropped in the tenure of Amazon MGM being fully in charge of the James Bond franchise. Before a writer or director can be hired, let alone a new 007, Bond needs someone to oversee it all. Well, it sounds like Amazon MGM have found the people, yes people, who they’d like to be running point.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, industry veterans Amy Pascal and David Heyman are in talks to take on the job. Pascal was a former studio head at Sony, now turned high-powered producer, while Heyman is another top-level producer. They both have franchise experience and have worked at different levels of Hollywood, so at least on the surface, this does not seem like a bad hiring at all. We shall see, but if they take it, James Bond will be in their hands.
