Ever since it was announced that Luca Guadagnino would be doing his own take on American Psycho, there has been rampant speculation about who would play Patrick Bateman. Joey and Myles spoke about it at length on an episode of the Awards Radar Podcast here, while Joey ran down some options here. Early buzz pointed to Jacob Elordi. Well, we now have our answer, and it’s a different young actor who has recently played Elvis Presley.
According to Variety, Guadagnino has chosen Austin Butler to play Bateman. This new version of the Bret Easton Ellis novel has a script penned by Scott Z. Burns and will be adapting Ellis’ novel, as opposed to the Mary Harron film of the same name. More on this when we have it, as American Psycho continues to come together.
