Ever since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released to a collective shrug, Star Wars itself has been in stasis on the big screen. The property has seen Lucasfilm start development on all sorts of new films, but nothing has even gotten close to being made. Well, it appears like three new movies are getting the green light now, with a new creative at the helm.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Simon Kinberg is going to write and produce the trilogy. Kathleen Kennedy will produce for Lucasfilm. That’s all we really know now, besides that it will be focused on new characters (minus potential cameos, of course) and a new story. If done right, this could be just the shot in the arm that Star Wars needs. Stay tuned.
