Judd Apatow and Steven Spielberg teaming up? Believe it. Spielberg has tapped Apatow to direct Cola Wars, which he is producing. It will mark Apatow’s latest directorial effort, while the newest high profile producing gig for Spielberg. More below.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cola Wars is set up at Sony Pictures. The film will focus on the period in the 1980s when Pepsi made a bid to unseat Coca Cola as the soda kings of the world. The movie’s script is being written by Jason Shuman and Ben Queen after Sony recently bought the pitch. It’s early days in the film’s development, but it seems like fascinating material for these heavyweights to collaborate on. More when we have it.
