As you know from Joey’s yearly coverage, the Telluride Film Festival is always full of major Oscar players. The other thing we know by now is that Telluride doesn’t reveal their lineup until the day before the festival begins, adding an element of mystery to the whole thing. That being said, designations at other festivals do give us some clues, which you may have heard Joey speculate to Myles about on the most recent Awards Radar Podcast here. Today, Variety has some reporting that does just that.
According to Variety, some of the titles playing at Telluride this year are likely to include Anora, Conclave, Emilia Pérez, The End, Maria, Megalopolis, Nickel Boys, and The Piano Lesson. At the same time, films not expected at the festival include A Complete Unknown, Here, Nightbitch, Queer, and We Live in Time. We won’t know for sure until August 29th, the day before things get underway, so stay tuned.
