Ridley Scott works fast. After having made Napoleon last year, he’s back now with his long rumored Gladiator sequel. Today brought the first trailer for Gladiator II, which has Paul Mescal playing Lucius, inspired by the tale of Maximus from the first film to step into the Coliseum.
Gladiator II stars Mescal in the lead role, with the rest of the cast led by Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, Joseph Quinn, and Fred Hechinger. Scott returns to direct a screenplay by David Scarpa. The sequel hits theaters on November 22nd.
