If you follow our editor Joey Magidson on social media, you’ll be aware that he’s been very taken by the upcoming horror film Longlegs. In fact, once it comes out next week, it’s going to take over as his number one movie of 2024 so far. Calling it the best serial killer horror film since The Silence of the Lambs, that high praise was obviously noticed by the folks at NEON, as their final trailer for Longlegs features that quote, albeit mistakenly citing a different outlet at the moment (we’ve been told it’s in the process of being amended). Still, it’s some big talk that many other pundits are backing up. The horror movie sure seems to be something special, with this trailer doing nothing to dissuade that opinion.

The premise for the film is simply this: “FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again.” Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe star, with Osgood Perkins writing and directing.
