The Fantastic Four may well be one of the most anticipated non-sequels that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever produced. Every bit of the process has had a ton of eyes on it, so every little dash of news has been a big deal. Now, we have a tiny bit more to share, which includes a quirk about its MCU setting.
According to Variety, Kevin Feige himself revealed on “The Official Marvel Podcast” that not only is the film set in New York City, it’s a period piece as well. However, it’s apparently going to be an alternate version of 1960’s NYC, for what that’s worth. The movie is directed by Matt Shakman, with the screenplay written by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm (The Thing). Plus, Julia Garner, Paul Walter Hauser, Ralph Ineson, and Natasha Lyonne fill out the cast.
