Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch to Star in a Remake of ‘War of the Roses’

Even on April Fool’s Day, there’s some legitimate news hitting the wires. Today brings news of a remake of The War of the Roses, the dark comedy directed by Danny DeVito, which starred Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. This time around, it’s going to be Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, with Searchlight on board to make the film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colman and Cumberbatch will star in the remake, which is going to be called The Roses. The filmmaker behind the camera is going to be Jay Roach, with the adaptation coming from Tony McNamara. The movie certainly has talent and star power, so if they can get a handle on the tone, this could be a lot of fun. More on this one when we have it.
