David Krumholtz sure has been having a moment. Between Oppenheimer and the social media buzz he stirred, more people had him on their minds than in a long while. There’s a cult legend status building about the man. So, it’s a bit of fortuitous timing that Krumholtz has a new movie coming out with him as the central character. Lousy Carter is a film built around him, which made pursuing a conversation with him about it a no-brainer. Today, that discussion comes your way.
In my review of Lousy Carter (here), I had this to say about Krumholtz’s work:
David Krumholtz is let loose here, portraying a character he clearly feels deep in his bones. By looking inward for the heart and humor, as well as the pain, it turns out to be one of his most complete turns to date. He’s obviously excellent in Oppenheimer and deeply underrated in Looking for Kitty, another rare central role, but this is up there with anything he’s done.
Below, you can see my chat with Krumholtz. We touch on the social media posts, which were really quite captivating to me, and really anyone who loves the Inside Baseball nature of the business, but we stick more to the film. He’s obviously passionate about Lousy Carter, and it shows. He also was quite taken when I mentioned my affection for underrated gem Looking for Kitty. It’s a good talk, overall, especially if you’re a fan of the man.
Here now is my interview with Lousy Carter star David Krumholtz. Enjoy:
