If you listen to the Awards Radar Podcast, you’ll know that Joey and the gang have often talked about a desire for Tom Cruise to get back to working with auteurs in dramas. The days of Magnolia seem long gone, but apparently, not so fast. In the wake of his new deal with Warner Bros., Cruise has a project potentially lining up with a huge filmmaker.
According to Deadline, Cruise is actually in negotiations to star in the next film from none other than Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Not much is known about the project, but it’s in the English language, like The Revenant, and Iñárritu is directing, as well as co-writing with Sabina Berman, Alexander Dinelaris, and Nicolas Giacobone. The movie is top secret for now, but if a deal with Cruise comes together, expect to hear more about it soon.
