After Warner Bros. removed Bong Joon Ho‘s follow-up to Parasite, Mickey 17, from their release calendar, folks have been waiting to see when the film would be coming out. Well, we now know, though it’s not an answer many would have been hoping for. The movie is now a 2025 release.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mickey 17 will be hitting theaters on January 31st, 2025. The Robert Pattinson starring film can now open in IMAX, which WB will surely tout, but this does seem like a big red flag. Bong is a very specific filmmaker, so if the studio no longer has confidence in his ambitious next work, tensions will be high as we all wait to see what becomes of it. Stay tuned throughout the year.
