Today, Bleecker Street released the official trailer for One Life. The film, directed by James Hawes, adapts Barbara Winton‘s If It’s Not Impossible…The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton, with a script from Lucinda Coxon and Nick Drake. Anthony Hopkins and Johnny Flynn star as older and younger versions of Nicholas Winton, respectively, with Helena Bonham Carter, Lena Olin, and Jonathan Pryce also co-starring. A release date of March 15th has been set.
Our editor Joey Magidson saw the film back at the Toronto International Film Festival, writing that it “manages to sneak up on you without ever feeling manipulative. When you’re meant to cry, you sure cry, but it feels earned. It does so because everything here is mounted through the lens of our protagonist, a humble man who just wanted to do good for children on the eve of WWII. The film carries that through to the finish line, making for the kind of work you can’t help but admire.” You can read his full review of the movie here.
