As Netflix is showcasing Richard Linklater‘s Hit Man at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival today, they’ve also released a Teaser Trailer for the movie, which reveals a June 7th release date for the festival favorite. Our own Joey Magidson loved it here at TIFF, calling it “smarter than it seems on paper, while still being very much a crowd-pleasing endeavor.”
Hit Man stars Glen Powell and is directed by Linklater, with the pair co-writing the screenplay. The plot synopsis from Netflix is as follows: “Inspired by an unbelievable true story, a strait-laced professor discovers his hidden talent as a fake hit man. He meets his match in a client who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities.”

Hit Man will stream on Netflix on Friday, June 7, 2024, with a limited theatrical release coming prior to that.
