When The Big Sick got Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani Oscar nominations for Best Original Screenplay, the wait immediately was on for their next writing project. Obviously, both have been busy with other things, but a new collaboration like that one hasn’t happened yet. Well, the wait might be coming to an end.
According to Variety, Gordon and Nanjiani have completed the script and are shopping it around. Nanjiani would again star, with this relationship rom-com having a less personal bent to it. Nothing else is known, but hopefully this comes together quickly. If it’s half as good as The Big Sick, this is something to really look forward to.
