Interview: Talking ‘Asteroid City’ and Wes Anderson’s Visuals with Cinematographer Robert Yeoman

While many see the name Robert Yeoman and immediately think of the visuals within Wes Anderson‘s filmography, I’m a bit different. For me, I think of the cinematographer’s work on Kevin Smith‘s Dogma. Of course, I have tons of respect for the DP’s efforts with Anderson, which is how this conversation came about. It just goes to show that Yeoman has done more than many realize. His latest collaboration with Anderson is Asteroid City, but in this discussion we had, we talk about lots more than just that.

Below, you can hear my chat with Yeoman. Asteroid City does get plenty of attention, but I did point out more of his resume than just that. However, it is one of the best looking and most affecting pairings of Anderson and Yeoman, so it was the perfect film to meet with him about. We get into what interests him, how he goes about his job, and much more. The movie has been out for some time, but after this talk, you might look at Asteroid City with new eyes…
