The Oscars are, at least recently, always making changes and tinkering in search of bigger audience numbers. While the Academy may be chasing a ghost, they’ve made a decision regarding the upcoming ceremony that might actually increase the number of people watching. They’re no longer going to be starting at 8pm on the east coast!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 96th Academy Award ceremony on March 10th, 2024, is kicking off at 7pm eastern, as opposed to its normal starting time an hour later. There will still be a pre-show before the Oscars, while after the final statue is handed out, ABC will an air an episode of Abbott Elementary. So, mark your calendars accordingly!
