In just a few short today, Martin Scorsese’s latest movie is hitting screens. Yes, Killers of the Flower Moon is coming very soon, and today Apple released their final trailer for the epic story (as opposed to the previous one we thought was a final trailer). The film is based on the book of the same name by David Grann, with a screenplay co-written by Scorsese and Eric Roth. Killers of the Flower Moon stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, John Lithgow, Tantoo Cardinal, and Scott Shepherd.
In his four star rave review yesterday, our editor Joey said of the movie “Killers of the Flower Moon is Martin Scorsese displaying more epic mastery of his art form, that much is clear. He’s painting on one of his biggest canvases, beautifully and horrifically so.” The full review can be found here.
Here is the plot synopsis for the film:
“At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.”
