The Venice Film Festival is just a few days away from kicking off. Of course, it’s getting underway in the shadow of the SAG and WGA strikes still going on. For most movies, that means their talent won’t be in attendance. However, that won’t be the case for all of them, as word has come down that Jessica Chastain, Adam Driver, Caleb Landry Jones, and Mads Mikkelsen will be headed to Venice.
According to Variety, those actors will be able to attend to promote their films. Why? Well, those works have obtained SAG-AFTRA interim waivers due to being indie productions that weren’t produced by AMPTP members. So, Driver can come to promote Ferrari, Chastain for Memory, Jones for Dogman, and Mikkelsen for The Promised Land. When you see them, just know that they aren’t crossing picket lines unjustly or anything like that. Still, hopefully the strikes get resolved soon.
