Back at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, Joey was a fan of Fair Play (reviewed here), praising the relationship thriller and saying “Deftly navigating this territory, it tells a tale that’s sure to linger once the end credits roll.” Today, a trailer has been revealed by Netflix, in advance of a fall release in theaters as well as on the platform. Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich stars, while Chloe Domont writes and directs.
This is the official plot synopsis: “When a coveted promotion at a cutthroat financial firm arises, once supportive exchanges between lovers Emily (Phoebe Dynevor) and Luke (Alden Ehrenreich) begin to sour into something more sinister. As the power dynamics irrevocably shift in their relationship, the couple must face the true price of success and the unnerving limits of ambition. In her feature debut, writer-director Chloe Domont weaves a taut relationship thriller, staring down the destructive gender dynamics that pit partners against each other in a world that is transforming faster than the rules can keep up. Also starring Eddie Marsan, Rich Sommer, and Sebastian De Souza, FAIR PLAY unravels the uncomfortable collision of empowerment and ego.”
Here now is the trailer for Fair Play:
FAIR PLAY will be released in select theaters on September 29th and premiere globally on Netflix on October 13, 2023.
