GKIDS Picks Up Hayao Miyazaki’s Final Film ‘The Boy and the Heron’

This weekend, the final movie by filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki was released in Japan. Interestingly, the work, titled How Do You Live? there, was released without any marketing, trusting audiences to just want to see the master’s latest story. Well, the work is coming stateside, with a new title to boot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miyazaki has teamed up with GKIDS again to release the film in North America. In America, it’ll be called The Boy and the Heron, so make note of that. We’ll see if GKIDS keeps it mostly a secret and stays away from images, trailers, and the like, but at least we know the farewell from Miyazaki is coming our way.
