First Trailer for ‘Napoleon’ Teases Ridley Scott’s Latest Historical Epic

The first trailer for Ridley Scott‘s Napoleon has been released online. Written by David Scarpa, the movie stars Joaquin Phoenix, Vanessa Kirby, Tahar Rahim, Ben Miles, Ludivine Sagnier, Matthew Needham, and Youssef Kerkour.

Napoleon will be the second film distributed by Apple Studios to have an expanded theatrical release before it makes its way to the streaming service, with the first being Martin Scorsese‘s Killers of the Flower Moon, and will be distributed through Columbia Pictures. Like Killers of the Flower Moon, Napoleon will also have an IMAX release, although it will not release in select theatres before expanding to more venues.

Additionally, an official poster was also released, which you can look at below:

Here is the official plot synopsis:

Napoleon is a spectacle-filled action epic that details the checkered rise and fall of the iconic French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, played by Oscar®-winner Joaquin Phoenix. Against a stunning backdrop of large-scale filmmaking orchestrated by legendary director Ridley Scott, the film captures Bonaparte’s relentless journey to power through the prism of his addictive, volatile relationship with his one true love, Josephine, showcasing his visionary military and political tactics against some of the most dynamic practical battle sequences ever filmed.”

You can watch the trailer below and see the movie in theatres on November 22:
