Johnny Depp’s Cannes Title ‘Jeanne du Barry’ Acquired For Distribution

At the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival, one of the movies playing was Jeanne du Barry, the Johnny Depp comeback vehicle. Reviews were somewhat tepid, but that hasn’t stopped the film from being acquired for domestic distribution.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vertical has stepped in to release the movie stateside. Directed by and co-starring Maïwenn, the french drama tells the story of Jeanne Vaubernier, the last mistress of King Louis XV. Depp fans will surely be interested in this one, even if his star has waned in recent years, largely due to scandal. Stay tuned for more on this one.
