A24 Reveals Cast for ‘MaXXXine’

A24 has revealed in a video the official cast for MaXXXine. The sequel to X and the third overall installment in the X franchise will see Mia Goth reprise her role as Maxine from Ti West‘s X. West is returning on board to write and direct the movie, which he did for X as well as the prequel Pearl.

Joining the cast for the third installment are Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon. The film will start shooting this month in Los Angeles, though details on their characters have been kept under wraps. However, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Esposito is slated to play an adult film agent, while Debicki will play a director. Monaghan, Cannavale, and Bacon will each play detectives.

It will, however, be set in Hollywood and follow Maxine after the events of X in the 1980s. The Hollywood Reporter has said that it will also deal with “the dangerous world of underground filmmaking.” No release date has currently been announced, but one assumes it will be ready for release sometime next year.
