It has been a bit since filmmaker Ava DuVernay has had a new project on the big screen. Her recent small screen work has been much acclaimed, but a feature film from her has been awaited with baited breath. Well, an adaptation of Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is coming from Duvernay. Aunjanue Ellis has the lead role, but the ensemble supporting cast for the movie has now been rounded out.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, DuVernay’s movie will now feature Blair Underwood, Finn Wittrock, Victoria Pedretti, Isha Blaaker, Leonardo Nam, Donna Mills, and Emily Yancy, in addition to the likes of Vera Farmiga, Niecy Nash, Nick Offerman, Jon Bernthal, Audra McDonald, and Connie Nielson. That’s quite the collection of talent, making Caste something to really pay attention to.
