‘Gladiator 2’ To Release in 2024

Gladiator fans, rejoice! Ridley Scott‘s next film will be Gladiator 2 and it now has a release date! Starring Paul Mescal as Lucius, son of Connie Nielsen’s Lucilla, the movie will be releasing in theatres on November 22, 2024. Paramount Pictures will be distributing the film.

Frequent Scott collaborator David Scarpa will be writing the screenplay. As of right now, the project is still untitled, while Russell Crowe is not expected to return to reprise his role as Maximus. That could’ve been a given, since his character was killed at the end of the last movie, but he could’ve appeared in a flashback or a dream sequence.

Scott’s next movie, Napoleon, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby, will release on Apple TV+ later this year.
