The very popular Pitch Perfect film franchise continues on the small screen with Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, following Bumper (Adam Devine) as he makes his way to Germany to give a new opportunity a shot and see if he can save his flailing career.
Awards Radar had the chance to speak to Devine about the chance to return to this role, and whether it’s something he’s always known he would do for the past decade:
“I did, because I’m a dreamer. I was always like, they’re spinning me off, I can tell. No, obviously no, no one ever thought. Even in our wildest imaginations, it was hard to believe what a hit the Pitch Perfect franchise was and currently is. It was bigger than anyone expected. I wasn’t in the third movie, so when they brought me this idea, I leapt at the chance to bring my boy Bumper back to life.”
On reuniting with his Modern Family costar Sarah Hyland:
“It’s the best. Sarah is one of the most talented actresses I’ve ever worked with. She is such a professional. She knows her lines, your lines, she’s holding the boom, she’s doing everything on the show. It’s just so cool to get to work with her again. I keep saying that I think she’s going to be like a Betty White, someone that’s still acting when she’s 95 years old, and she’s just a beloved figure. I’m happy that I get to be a little blip on her amazing career that I know she’s going to have.”
