Interview: Jake Lacy Talks ‘A Friend of the Family’ and the Evolution of His Career

Jake Lacy is an actor that I always have my eye on. I first noticed him in Obvious Child, where he gives one of this best performances. Since then, it has been a steady climb up the Hollywood ladder, including big screen turns in Being the Ricardos, Carol, Diane, and Miss Sloane. On the small screen, he’s made his mark with The Office, The White Lotus, and now A Friend of the Family. In relation to that juicy turn, we recently had a conversation, one that touched on almost all of his work to date. Today, that back and forth comes your way!

Below, you can see my chat with Lacy. We met up on Zoom for A Friend of the Family, but I wanted to bring up a number of things, including his film career. It’s a really casual and interesting discussion, one we actually continued after the interview wrapped. Lacy is a good dude, as you’ll be able to tell, so it’s easy to root for him. He’s going to be a part of this industry for a long time to come, so it’s a welcome plus that he’s good people, in addition to being a talented actor.
