Rooney Mara to Go Lead for ‘Women Talking’ With the Rest of the Cast Supporting

Hot on the heels of Universal making a pair of interesting category calls with their ladies in The Fabelmans and She Said, MGM/United Artists is at it as well. In a piece detailing what they’re also planning for Bones & All and Till, we now know how they’re going to be campaigning Women Talking. Apparently, almost all of the cast is in the same category, with one notable exception.

According to Variety, Rooney Mara is going to be campaigned for Best Actress, while the rest of the actresses will be together in Best Supporting Actress, namely Jessie Buckley and Claire Foy. Whether this is making it easier for Buckley and Foy or meant to highlight Mara remains to be seen, but according to Joey out of the Telluride Film Festival here, they’re all worthy of attention. So, this is just the beginning of the campaign for Women Talking.
