‘She-Hulk’ Episode Three Recap: “The People vs. Emil Blonsky”

*Warning: This piece contains spoilers for episode three of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law*

Episode three of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law begins with Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) confronting her client Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) for breaking out of prison and participating in an underground fight ring as the Abomination. Blonsky insists that he was forced to break out of his cell by Wong, the Sorcerer Supreme, and that returning to his cell was his own choice. Jen contacts Wong, who backs up everything Blonsky says and even agrees to testify to the parole board to help Blonsky become a free man.

Meanwhile in the B-plot, Jen’s former colleague Dennis Bukowski (Drew Matthews) is suing an ex-girlfriend of his, an Asgardian shapeshifter named Runa, for tricking him into believing he was dating Megan Thee Stallion and extorting $175,000 from him. The case is assigned to Augustus Pugliese (Josh Segarra), Walter’s colleague.

Blonsky’s parole hearing comes about and after numerous testimonies are given explaining how much Blonsky has changed his ways, Wong enters and informs the parole board that leaving the prison wasn’t his choice and should not be treated as such. Blonsky is granted parole under the condition that he never transforms into Abomination again.

Afterwards, Jen testifies in favor of Bukowski, stating that he is self-absorbed enough and gullible enough to believe that Runa was the real Megan Thee Stallion. The judge rules in favor of Bukowski and sentences Runa to repay the many taken from Bukowski and serve 60 days in jail. Megan Thee Stallion (Megan Thee Stallion) applauds the decision in the courtroom.

On her way home, Jen is attacked by four men using stolen Asgardian construction equipment, but she transforms into She-Hulk and easily subdues them.

Episode three of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law delivers the same humor we’ve come to know and expect, but takes a break from some of the action that has taken place in episodes prior, This current episode also further cements the events of the show into today’s entertainment culture with the appearance of Megan Thee Stallion and the presence of other memes during a montage sequence.
