Interview: Tom Campbell on the Absolute Joy of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’

I have a vivid memory of the first time I watched RuPaul’s Drag Race. It was 2011, and I was visiting New York to see my cousin in a Broadway show. I stayed with him and while he went out for the day to do his show, he said, “watch this show. You’ll be obsessed with it.” I’m sure you can guess what that show was.

Over a decade later, RuPaul’s Drag Race has become a worldwide phenomenon and has changed the world. And earlier today, I was honored to chat with someone who has been attached with this program since the beginning. Before Porkchop was eliminated. Before the Emmys. Before everything. I chatted with the 5-time Emmy winner, Tom Campbell.
