Amy Winehouse Biopic ‘Back to Black’ Finds a Director in Sam Taylor-Johnson

A biopic of the late singer Amy Winehouse has been in development for a bit, but until now, there hasn’t been a ton of movement. Penned by Matt Greenhalgh, Back to Black is obviously a high priority for Studiocanal. However, it’s hard to get the film made without a director. Well, that’s no longer the case, as the movie has settled on a filmmaker to take the helm.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sam Taylor-Johnson is the choice to direct Back to Black. Obviously, the search is now on for who will play Amy Winehouse. It’s a big responsibility, but if Taylor-Johnson and company find the right actress, this could turn out to be something special. Stay tuned.
