The Next James Bond Film is a Reinvention and is At Least Two Years Away, According to Barbara Broccoli

Even though we just saw James Bond grace our screens last year with No Time to Die (Joey’s review can be found here), speculation is already high on what’s next for 007. Well, we obviously know that Bond is being recast, since Daniel Craig has finished with the role. We also can assume that producers will opt to do something at least a little bit different with this next version of the franchise. Recently, one of the Bond stalwarts was asked about the status of the next film. You can see what they said below.

According to Deadline, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has said that there’s a ways to go before James Bond is on our screens again. That’s not surprising, but she would be the one who knows best. In part, Broccoli had this to say:

“Nobody’s in the running,” she disclosed. “We’re working out where to go with him, we’re talking that through. There isn’t a script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next film because, really, it’s a reinvention of Bond. We’re reinventing who he is and that takes time. I’d say that filming is at least two years away.”
