Christian Slater has been acting for a fair amount of his life now, and it shows. The man is quietly always fascinating to watch. I maintain that Pump Up the Volume is absolutely phenomenal, which I tell him at the top of our interview. Beyond that, I love him in Heathers, as well as The Contender, just to name two more. With his work on the miniseries Dr. Death earning him some acclaim, I was thrilled to talk to Slater again, years after I participated in a roundtable with him and others for Nymphomaniac. That was then, but this is now, and today, I present Slater to you, in all his glory!
Below, you can see my conversation with Slater. We talk about what drew him to Dr. Death, as well as just how the work keeps him excited and interesting. He’s a very sweet man, so it was fun to chat with him again, years later after the aforementioned Nymphomaniac roundtable. You can see Dr. Death on Peacock, so be sure to check out his work there, as well as potentially revisit some of his classic work, especially Pump Up the Volume. You’ll be glad that you did…
Here now is my interview with actor and Dr. Death co-star Christian Slater. Enjoy:
