Brett Goldstein Says Third Season of ‘Ted Lasso’ Will Be Its Last

In an interview with the Sunday Times, Ted Lasso writer and star Brett Goldstein, who portrays Roy Kent in the show, says that the third season of the highly-popular Apple TV+ series is currently being written as its last.

“We are writing it like that. It was planned as three. Spoiler alert — everyone dies.”

This corroborates what the show’s star and co-creator Jason Sudeikis said in 2021 that Ted Lasso has a three-season arc:

“The story that I know is the one that I wanted to tell, and so that’s the one we’re telling with the help of numerous people in front of and behind the camera, so it’s by no means me typing every key stroke and saying every word. It’s nowhere near like that. But the story that’s being told – that three-season arc – is one that I see, know, and understood. I’m glad that they are willing to pay for those three seasons. As far as what happens after that, who knows? I don’t know.”

Ted Lasso is one of the most successful series of Apple TV+ and has a massive fanbase. It was nominated for six Primetime Emmys for its second season, which premiered in 2021. Season 3 is slated to premiere in late 2022, without a specific release date.
