‘Married…With Children’ Animated Revival in the Works at Sony: Original Cast to Return

An animated revival of the hit sitcom Married…With Children is currently in the works at Sony Pictures Television, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Alex Carter (Family Guy) will oversee the series, which will stream on a yet-to-be-decided service.

This is the first time that a revival of the show is moving forward. In 2014, Sony announced that a Bud Bundy spinoff was in the works, only for it to be scrapped a few months later. Married…With Children lasted for 11 season, from 1987 to 1997 and was one of the most successful sitcoms of that era.

Ed O’Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino will all reprise their original roles as Al Bundy, Margaret “Peggy” Bundy, Kelly Bundy, and Bud Bundy, respectively, in animated form. The show is expected to be sold on a streaming service very soon, and could be released in a few years from now.
