Zack Snyder is continuing to round up the cast of his next project, Rebel Moon. Saw actor Cary Elwes and Ant-Man star Corey Stoll, are now the latest to join the project. Michael Huisman and Alfonso Herrera will also be starring, with production getting ready to start later this month. Elwes will be playing the king of a galactic empire, while no other details for its new cast members have been given.
They will be joining an ensemble cast comprised of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Rupert Friend, and Stuart Martin.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will tell the story of a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Belisarius. Desperate, the colonists dispatch a young woman (Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.”
Production will last until November, with Snyder’s plan to split the film into two parts. The film could also act as a backdoor pilot to a number of spinoffs, such as Army of the Dead led to Army of Thieves, and the anime series Lost Vegas which is set to premiere this year.
