After retiring from the NFL earlier this month, Tom Brady will be making his [proper, he did cameo in Ted 2 after all] Hollywood debut in a road trip comedy titled 80 for Brady, to which he will also executive produce.
He will be accompanied by Hollywood legends, which include Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Rita Moreno. Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content will be distributing.
The movie will be directed by Kyle Marvin, who co-wrote and starred in 2019’s The Climb, and will also be writing the script alongside Michael Covino. They will also executive produce alongside Brady and Jeff Stott.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will tell the story of “four best friends and New England Patriots fans who take a life-changing trip to the 2017 Super Bowl LI to see their quarterback hero, Tom Brady, play and the chaos that ensues as they navigate the wilds of the biggest sporting event in the country.” Moreno, Field ,Tomlin and Fonda will be playing the four best friends, and Brady will appear as himself.
Production is set to begin in the spring, with a release eyed sometime in 2023.
